Jason is approached from a man (Orry) representing the Church of the Fellowship of the Sun while in jail. The man notifies him that the church is raising money for his defense. While Tara is staying with Maryann she meets “Eggs”, a young man who is also staying there until he gets back up on his feet. Sookie finds out that Rene is the strangler and hits him with the handle of a shotgun. Rene then chases Sookie into a graveyard and starts to attack her. Sam attempts to save Sookie but is overpowered, eventually Sookie recovers and deals with Rene while his back is turned. Bill is injured when he exits his house in the day in attempt to save Sookie from Rene. The DA drops all charges against Jason and he is released from jail. Tara introduces Sam to Maryann, but it appears that they have already met and that they have some sort of unfinished business. Sookie and Bill are reunited with one another once Bill feasts and heals him self. Lafayette is attacked when taking out the garbage and goes missing. Jason finds himself attending a mass at the Church of the Fellowship of the Sun. Jessica returns to Bill. The episode ends with Detective Andy opening the door of his car and a persons leg drops out.

Bill Compton completes the conditions of his sentence assigned to him by the vampire tribunal. When Jessica awakes from the grave and finds out that she is Vampire, she is ecstatic. Much to Bill’s surprise, Jessica actually likes the fact that she is a Vampire. Unfortunately, Jessica is not ready to abide by the suggested rules Bill try’s to impose on her. Trying to solve the mystery behind the suspicious strange visions Sookie has been having, Sam and her decide to take a road trip in search of the face behind a name. They first head to a pie shop where they meet a man that provides them with some information. They then meet a sheriff who is not quick to help them, but Sookie uses her telepathic powers and bribes the man in providing them with some information. Jason agrees to take “V” one last time with Amy before they both quit it forever. When Jason wakes up from his V trip he finds Amy’s lifeless body laying on the bed beside him. Jason thinks that he had killed Amy while high on the V, and turns him self into the police believing he may have also killed the 2 other women who were recently murdered. Tara is bailed out of jail by a social worker named Maryann Forrester, and agrees to stay at her house because her mom kicked her out. At the end of the episode Bill returns to find Sam and Sookie kissing; Sam and Bill scuffle and Susie orders Bill to leave her house.

Sam tells Sookie that he is a shape shifter. Amy finds out that Jason has been feeding the vampire that they have captured, ensuring that he stays alive. Eddie (the vampire) also reveals to Amy that Jason thinks she might be “the one” (that he will marry). Tara goes for her exorcism and believes that it has worked, but is enraged when she finds out Miss Jeanette’s true intentions. At Bill’s trial, the elder Vampire decides to shine away from the usual punishment for murdering another vampire for something more “creative”. This punishment is far worse for Bill than the usual punishment, and involves a young girl (human) named Jessica. At Merlotte’s bar for Arlene’s engagement party, Sookie has a close encounter with the possible serial killer.
