Although we have not read the books, my wife and I think that every season will introduce a new type of supernatural creature. We both thought that season 2 should not have spent as much time on the Maryann storyline. The series seemed to loose some of its intensity. As much as I loved the sexuality that flowed through season one, I had the disquieting feeling that the entire Maryann storyline was added as an excuse to show the orgy scenes. (As Seinfeld would say, "Not that there's anything wrong with that...", but the show seemed to deviate from its previous path.) I suppose the real question is- Did the books actually go into Maryann as much? Despite the little whinge, we are both totally addicted to the series and looking forward to season 3. Despite frequent probing, I have not been able to determine whether Bill, Eric, Jason or Sam is the focus of my wife's interest in the show. As for myself, Anna Paquin has "blossomed" (very nicely, thank you very much), since X-Men, however, could a scene be written into the storyline, maybe a costume party, for example, where she could wear a long pair of Rogues' silk gloves? (Just kidding!)
